Master Pelé
Master Pelé, was born in 1934, and is from the time when capoeira was practiced on weekends and days when there were parties. He learned capoeira on the street, starting at age 12, in a time when it was still marginalized and was just starting to be taught in studios. His teacher was Bugalho, a well known capoeirista and berimbau player.
Master Pelé taught for 25 years exclusively in the fifth Battalion of Military Police. He is known for his great singing in the roda, and is part of the Consul of Masters for the Brazilian Association of Capoeira Angola - ABCA.
