Master Gato
Master Gato of Rio de Janeiro is both a master of capoeira and has master of the University of Newcastle in England. In the 1960's, together with Master Rafael Flores and Master Preguiça, he founded the Senzala Capoeira Group one of the largest groups with in the world. In Newcastle, as a student, he discovered "the English have rhythm and like to fight"; he organized various capoeira rodas on the University. It was such a success that Master Gato ended up creating Senzala Group of Great Britain, a branch of the origional. Since 1990 he has gone England every year to baptise more students.
